Honda Racing Gallery showcases Honda’s rich Formula One history

Honda opens Racing Gallery at Suzuka circuit

Honda have unveiled details regarding the new Honda Racing Gallery, a facility that Honda has established at Suzuka in order to showcase the succession of Honda machines. The gallery will also serve as a centre for Honda communications regarding its motorsport activities, including the introduction of the challenges that Honda has overcome to become number one in the world, as well as a showcase of the various motorsport technologies employed across their involvement in the sport.

The Honda Racing Gallery was designed as a facility where visitors can experience Honda’s determination to win, and the technologies developed through their involvement in motorsport. The exhibits include successive generations of Honda race machines, engines and power units that were used in competition, many in Formula One. 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of Honda’s very first Formula One race.

Upon entering the gallery, visitors walk through a speed tunnel which generates a sense of speed and anticipation, leading to the main hall. The main hall is designed as a black-toned space with no outside light, so that colours and shapes of race machines stand out under the spotlights.

On display in the centre of the main hall are the Honda RA272 which earned Honda their first ever Formula One race win at the Mexican Grand Prix in 1965 alongside the Red Bull Racing Honda RB16B which Max Verstappen drove to the World Drivers’ Championship in 2021.

A group of Formula One cars that represent Honda’s Formula One victories are exhibited at the rear of the main hall, showcasing the history of Honda’s challenges and victories in Formula One throughout the years.

Also on display are the Honda Formula One engines and power units that were developed and perfected in pursuit of becoming the world’s number one during all the eras of Formula One, allowing visitors to witness the technological excellence needed to be successful in each era.

Honda will continue to offer high-quality experiences and communication opportunities at all points of contact with its customers, striving to make Honda a brand that will continue to be adored by customers and fans around the world.
