Motus expands Honda footprint in Gauteng

Motus acquires Honda Sandton

Just short of a year ago Motus took over Honda Sandton and under the guidance of dealer principal Shameem Kadir the dealership has shown tremendous growth.

“Motus took over the premises last July and we have improved every month since,” said Kadir.

The benefits of being part of a large group like Motus were evident immediately and played a big role in being able to run the business more effectively explains Kadir. “It took a short while for staff to adapt from working for a small independent to a big corporate but as soon as they realised the advantages we had them on our side.”

“Being part of a large group like Motus afford us a variety of advantages including more muscle when dealing with the OEM and a network of dealers that can help with evaluations or stock in every province,” explains Kadir.

“The benefits extend further than for our staff and business entity, there are advantages for the customer too, this includes the core Motus values as well as dealing with a big corporate,” says Kadir.

Kadir believes that the decision to expand the group’s representation within Honda was an easy one, “Honda remains a high quality brand with a loyal customer following. In many cases the Honda products are more expensive than the competitors but they are reliable and the build quality is second to none.
We often get vehicles in our workshop with between 300 and 400 000 km on the odometer, which is testament to their reliability as well as the loyalty of customers who still choose to service with us.”

“The location of the dealership was also attractive for Motus, as it is situated at a prime location on William Nicol and right next door to the Motus Kia dealership,” explains Kadir.

Motus Honda Sandton retails both cars and motorcycles and will continue to do so. “The Honda Wing department is doing as well as stock allows. The Ace remains a natural choice for fleet customers and the Africa Twin remains popular despite the current economic conditions,” says Kadir.

“Despite stock issues and other disruptions like the KZN floods we have been able to grow our new car sales business by 50 percent, while the parts and workshop departments are now performing optimally after growing by 25 percent since we have taken over,” concludes Kadir.

Honda Sandton is located at 3 William Nicol drive, Sandton.
