The Honda WR-V: Your new favourite crossover

The Honda WR-V offers SUV styling and characteristics at an affordable price

The Honda model line up now includes a number of SUV models, including the WR-V.

With a bold exterior design and a spacious practical interior, the WR-V is an entry level SUV catering to the needs of consumers who are looking for a combination of style, practicality and versatility. An abundance of safety, convenience and connectivity features ensure a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.

The WR-V is positioned below the HR-V and alongside BR-V as Honda’s most affordable five seater compact SUV.

SUV focussed design

The exterior design includes a compact yet confident visage. Instantly recognisable as a Honda, it features bold styling and a sporty appearance paired with a raised stance and rugged appeal that customers expect from an SUV. A bold headlight design is complemented by distinctive LED daytime running lights, which frame the signature wing face. Along the side, a pronounced swage line, crisp contours and pronounced wheel arches add to the SUV look.

The Elegance model is equipped with LED projector headlamps and LED fog lights while the Comfort model features Halogen Projectors and fog lights.

A tidy rear-end features large C-shaped LED tail light clusters, a tailgate that opens all the way down to bumper level, for easy loading. A raised stance and wide track reflect the rugged attitude that is typical of an SUV.

Inside story

Given its compact footprint, the WR-V looks and feels spacious inside. The interior is well packaged and results in a spacious rear cabin that comfortably seats five passengers.

Generous glass areas create an airy inviting impression that emphasises the spaciousness of the cabin and ensures that both front and rear occupants enjoy superb all-round visibility from the cockpit.

The boot measures 363 litres with the rear seats in the upright position and can be extended to 881 litres with the seats folded flat. The WR-V incorporates Honda’s ingenious Magic Seat system that can be configured in several different ways to accommodate a variety of tall and long objects.

Upholstery consists of high-quality black fabric providing the perfect balance of comfort, support and durability.

The combination of soft touch charcoal finishes and silver accents add an air of sophistication. Both models feature a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with audio controls.

Comfort models are fitted with a user-friendly five-inch LCD audio system that features Bluetooth for hands-free telephony and audio streaming. The Elegance model features a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality as well as a reverse camera.

Under the bonnet

With fuel economy top of mind for many consumers, Honda fitted the WR-V with a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine that employs Honda’s i-VTEC intelligent valve timing management system to ensure an optimum balance of performance and fuel efficiency. The result is maximum power of 66kW at 6000rpm and 110Nm at 4800rpm while using just 6,6 litres per 100km on the combined cycle.

A comprehensive array of safety equipment includes six airbags on both models as well as ABS with EBD.

Model line up

The WR-V model range includes two models, the Comfort and Elegance, both featuring the same engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission.
